What is all this white crap? A cold weather cycling guide to the rescue.

December 14, 2008

It’s snowing!  No, really!  Big, white flakes that are sticking.  East coasters will mock us for being excited and Portlanders will forget how to drive, but dagnabbit, I’m stoked.

And, I swear I didn’t plan the weather, but I have a cold weather cycling guide in the Outdoors section of the Oregonian today.  There’s even a really silly picture of me with snap-on fenders on my Veloforma carbon ‘cross bike.

If you’re in Portland today and inclined to get out in the weather on your bike, Uma organized an assault on Forest Park to leave  at high noon from St. Honore Bakery . Dress warm and bring out your all-weather bikes!

Oh, if I could only look so good and fierce in that many layers. So hott you melt the ice. Are you sure you’re not contributing to global warming?

While we were busy scampering and shaking like leaves on big, tall pieces of rock, Jim entertained us with stories, history, fun facts and general instruction. We were taking a break from [...] Related posts:What is all this white crap? A cold weather cycling guide to the rescue. [...]
