PhotoGlimmer: Hot Pants at L’Eroica

There is nothing to say about this guy. Nothing to do but admire the confident thighs, the loose fitting socks, the concentration.

L’Eroica is half spectacle, half historic celebration. While much of the throng is delighting in a strictly orchestrated period-specific geek-out with the fervor of Civil War re-enactment fanatics, the others are throwing together wildly cobbled assemblies of vintage anything-you-can-get-your-hands-on.

The ride is difficult in the classic hard-man sense of the word. Gravel roads, heavy bikes, sketchy brakes, insane gear ratios. Cyclists making a hard thing even harder just for the sake of suffering. Because that’s what we do.

All hail hot pants.

I love it! Can I have this photo on a coffee cup?
    Glad to see you back!
I’d love to do L’Eroica but I have horrid trouble with vibration on gravel roads and the like…not sure I could handle it, even with the beautiful bikes, gorgeous scenery and food!
