MTB Ayiti Yashica T4 Images

I can’t wait to tell you more about MTB Ayiti. About the sweat and the blood and the laughter and the tears and the confusion and the cheers and the parties and the dancing.

Paths so steep it seemed impossible. Hot nights with mosquitoes, cold nights without showers, many nights without power. An endless supply of Prestige beer. The smoking Frenchman racer. The chiseled farmer who helped Esaie and I find our way back to course when we were lost. About so many friends made. The mountainscapes that put Tolkein to shame. The way the clouds settled in among the peaks, the feeling of ascending into them and the sudden quiet. The old women on foot balancing impossible baskets on their heads as they made their way to market. Picking lines around donkeys. Sacrificing good lines to very fast motorcycles overfilled with families and supplies.

Later. Later.

For now, a few snapshots from my trusty Yashica T4. Most of these are behind-the-scenes glimpses from Camp Winnie, where we camped in between Stage 2 and Stage 3. Unfortunately, my camera gear bag did not make it up to camp to meet me and I was way too busy surviving while on course to take very many snaps with the phone.

For the real photos, keep your eyes on Cody Tuttle and Steve Z and be sure to follow the MTB Ayiti Facebook Page. Full flickr set here. More images soon to come.
